What is Environment?
The natural environment encompasses all living and nonliving things occurring naturally on Earth or some region thereof. It is an environment that encompasses the
interaction of all living species. The concept of the natural environment can be distinguished by components:
Complete ecological units that function as natural systems without massive civilized human intervention, including all
vegetation,
microorganisms, soil, rocks, atmosphere,
and natural phenomena that occur within their boundaries.
Universal natural resources and physical phenomena that lack clear-cut boundaries, such as air, water, and climate, as well as energy, radiation, electric charge, and magnetism, not originating from civilized human activity.

What are Natural Resources?
Natural resources occur naturally within environments that exist relatively
undisturbed
by
humanity,
in
a natural form.
A natural resource
is
often
characterized
by
amounts
of biodiversity and geodiversity existent in various ecosystems. Natural resources are derived from the environment. Some of them are essential for our survival while most are used for satisfying our needs. Natural resources may be further classified in different ways. Natural resources are materials and components (something that can be used) that can be found within the environment. Every man-made product is composed of natural resources (at its fundamental level). A natural resource may exist as a separate entity such as fresh water, and air, as well as a living organism such as a fish, or it may exist in an alternate form which must be processed to obtain the resource such as metal ores, oil, and most forms of energy.

Renewable and Non-Renewable
Resources
Renewable Resources
A renewable resource is a natural resource which can replenish with the passage of time, either through biological reproduction or other naturally recurring processes. Renewable resources are a part of Earth's natural environment and the largest components of its ecosphere. A positive life cycle assessment is a key indicator of a resource's sustainability.

Non Renewable Resources
A non-renewable resource (also called a finite resource) is a resource that does not renew itself at a sufficient rate for sustainable economic extraction in meaningful human time-frames. An example is carbonbased, organically-derived fuel. The original organic material, with the aid of heat and pressure, becomes a fuel such as oil or gas. Fossil fuels (such

as coal,
petroleum,
and natural
gas),
and
certain aquifers are all non-renewable resources.

Exploitation of Natural Resources
The exploitation of natural resources started to emerge in the 19th century as natural...
