Cambodia covers an area of 181,035 km2 and most of it consists of a low-lying alluvial plain that occupies the central part of the country. In Cambodia, there has been increasing pressure on natural resources in recent years which caused many negative impacts on many things such as forest management, fisheries, protected areas, pollution and waste control, etc. Since Cambodia’s rich natural resource base and rural population depend on these resources, all of these issues are both relevant and vitally important. That was all because of the conflicts over land, fisheries, as well as water use and natural resources exportation. For these reasons, natural resources of Cambodia which consist of land, minerals, petroleum, wildlife and many other resources should be preserved, developed and managed to use in a rational and sustainable manner. Cambodia is extremely rich in natural resources which have been considered as the great potential for tourism and economy development. Despite a growing manufacturing sector, roughly ninety percent of poor Cambodians still live in rural areas and depend on natural resources like land, fish, forests and clean rivers for their livelihoods. Agriculture and forestry contribute nearly forty percent of the country’s GDP which stands for Gross Domestic Product. Tourism, which is based on the country’s cultural and natural wonders, also contributes significantly to economic development.
